Reuters reported that US Airways’ shareholders approved the airline’s merger plans with AMR’s American Airlines. According to the article, 132.3 million out of 132.8 shares voted in favor of the merger; 257,757 shares voted against; and 256,523 abstained from the vote.

Reuters noted that while this is another step closer to closing the deal that would create the world’s largest airline carrier, the $11 billion companies are still waiting for approval from antitrust regulators.
